ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants whose first language is not English must fulfil the following English language requirements, unless stated otherwise under their specific country’s section:
International Foundation Programme: IELTS 5.5 (min 5.0)
Most Art & Design Programmes: IELTS 6.0 (min 5.5)
Architecture and some PG Programmes: IELTS 6.5 (min 5.5)
Please note that for UKVI purposes you must take the IELTS for UKVI (Academic) at a recognised centre.
PORTFOLIOS
Most programmes require applicants to apply with a portfolio of work, without which the application will be considered incomplete.

Undergraduate Applicants – Students will need to pass their Bachillerato with 7 or above
Postgraduate Applicants – Students should have average grades of 7+ in their Licenciatura
BAHAMAS
Undergraduate Applicants – See standard A level entry requirements. Students who do not take A levels and take an Associate Degree will need grades A-C.
Postgraduate Applicants – A good degree from the University of the West Indies is acceptable.
English Language Requirements – Grade C, or above, in O level English Language satisfies the general English language requirement.
BARBADOS
Undergraduate Applicants – Applicants should have a minimum of: Three local A-Levels (grades A-E) OR An Associate Degree in a relevant subject area (GPA 2.75 or grade A-C) OR The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) with 6 CAPE units including 2 single units (grades 1-4) (grade A-C or GPA 2.75+).
Postgraduate Applicants – Applicants for Masters programmes should have a degree from the University of the West Indies
English Language Requirements – A pass in English in the Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education (CXC)
BERMUDA
Undergraduate Applicants – Student will need a B average in their Bermuda School Certificate.
English Language Requirements – Students will need a B in English in the Bermuda School Certificate.
BRAZIL
Undergraduate Applicants – Students should have the Certificado de Ensino Medio with good grades: 7+ or Bom, Muito Bom, Excelente; or A or B and have passed a university entrance exam 5+ from 10 or equivalent (Concorso Vestibular). Students who have passed the ENEM (Exame Nacional Do Ensino Medio) with minimum 55% will also meet the requirements.
Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have successfully gained a Bacherel/Licenciado or Professional Title over 4 years or longer can be considered. Acceptable grades are Bom, Muito Bom, Excelente; A or B; 7+; or a GPA of 2.75+
CANADA
Undergraduate Applicants – (Information for other provinces is available from our Admissions Team). British Columbia: 65% in five grade 12 subjects (preferably five grade Bs) (Dogwood Diploma/Secondary Sch Grad Dipl). Ontario: 70% in six 4U or 4M courses. Quebec: The Diplome d’Etudes Collegiales (DEC) awarded after two years of study at a ‘college d’enseignement general et professionnel’ (CEGEP) is acceptable as satisfying general entrance requirements.
Postgraduate Applicants – An Honours degree will satisfy entry requirements onto postgraduate programmes. The Lowest Grade Point Average (GPA) should be 6 on 9 Point GPA and 2.7 on 4 Point GPA, both reflecting an average grade of B-.
English Language Requirements – Students from English-speaking Canadian provinces will need to evidence that they have reached an acceptable level of English language skill through their high school qualification. Students from French speaking provinces will need to pass a Secure English Language Test shown at the top of the page.
COLOMBIA
Undergraduate Applicants – Students with Bien in the bachillerato may be considered for entry. Students should have also passed a higher education entrance exam (ICFES).
Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have a Licenciatura or Professional Title gained after 4 years of study, or more, with a minimum grade of 3.5 should meet the requirements for a Masters degree.
JAMAICA
Undergraduate Applicants – The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) with 6 CAPE units including 2 single units (grades 1-4) (grade A-C or GPA 2.75+). Students with 3 local A levels with a minimum C grade can also be accepted. Students with associate degrees with a minimum of 60% or 2.0 grade points per credit can also be accepted.
Postgraduate Applicants – A good degree from the University of the West Indies. Degrees from the University of the Caribbean, University of Technology and Northern Caribbean University are also acceptable.

MEXICO
Undergraduate Applicants – Students should have successfully completed secondary school with good grades (8-10) in the bachillerato.
Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have a Licenciatura or Professional Title gained after 4 years of study or more with a good grade should meet the requirements for a Masters degree. Good grades would normally be 8+ or bien, muy bien or excelente.
SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS
Undergraduate Applicants – Students with equivalent grades at A levels or AVCE are acceptable.
Postgraduate Applicants – A good degree from the University of the West Indies is acceptable.
English Language Requirement – A pass in English in the Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education (CXC)
SAINT LUCIA
Undergraduate Applicants – Students with: UK A levels; 1-2 year certificates; Diplomas or Associate Degrees from Sir Arthur Lewis Community College at appropriate grades are acceptable for entry to undergraduate programmes
Postgraduate Applicants – A good degree from the University of the West Indies is acceptable.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
Undergraduate Applicants – Applicants should have a minimum of: Three local A-Levels (grades A-E) OR An Associate Degree in a relevant subject area (GPA 2.75 or grade A-C) OR The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) with 6 CAPE units including 2 single units (grades 1-4) (grade A-C or GPA 2.75+).
Postgraduate Applicants – Applicants for Masters programmes should have a degree from the University of West Indies
English Language Requirements – A pass in English in the Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education (CXC)
USA
Undergraduate Applicants – Students should possess a high school diploma (showing good grades i.e. B or above) in relevant subjects. All students should have at least a B average from high school. If students are studying at a high school with an Advanced Placement programme (AP) then 3 passes with grade 3 and above (4 or 5) in relevant subjects (eg art) will show suitability for UG entry.
Postgraduate Applicants – A CGPA minimum of 2.75 is required with at least 30 credits from one specific and relevant subject area. The School does not normally require standardised tests like GMAT and GRE.
English Language Requirements – B average in year 11 or 12 in their high school diploma in English.
VENEZUELA
Undergraduate Applicants – Students should have successfully completed secondary school (educación media diversificada y professional) with good grades in the bachillerato (17+).
Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have good grades in a Licenciatura or Professional Title gained after 4 years of study or more should meet the requirements for a Masters degree.
