IRAN

Undergraduate Applicants – Students who have successfully completed their 3 year high school diploma (with an average of 14/B or above. One failure is allowed as long as it is above 0 and 2 failures are allowed as long as they are above 0 and the overall average is over 14). Students with a high school diploma with lower grades and a Pre-University Certificate with a GPA of 12/20 can also be considered.

Postgraduate Applicants – For students who have a relevant Licence/Karshenasi with good grades ie – average of 12 or above, with all marks 10 or above, or As,Bs or Cs, or GPA 2.7+

IRAQ

Undergraduate Applicants – Students need 75% or above in the 6th form Baccalaureat (Adadiyah)

Postgraduate Applicants – Students would normally need a Masters degree from Iraq with 60% +

ISRAEL

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with a minimum score 6 (overall) in the Bagrut can be considered.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students will usually need over 75, or B in their undergraduate degree

JORDON

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with over 80% in the Tawjihi (General Secondary Education Certificate) or a community college certificate/diploma with over 60% may be considered.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students with a bachelors degree with Good/2.7/65%/C+ or above can be considered

KUWAIT

Undergraduate Applicants – 70% (Grade C) or above in the Shahadat-al-thanawia-al-a’ama (General Secondary School Certificate)

Postgraduate Applicants – Students need exceptionally high grades in their bachelors  A, A-, B+.

LEBANON

Undergraduate Applicants – Baccalauréat Général II of at least 12 or above.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have completed a Licence from Prestigious Institutions with 80% or above, A or B, 2.7+can be considered.

OMAN

Undergraduate Applicants – Students who have passed the Thannawiya Ama with at least 80% and whose application is strong may exceptionally be made an offer.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students need an upper second or a CGPA of at least 2.7.

QATAR

Undergraduate Applicants – Students need to pass Thanawaya Al Aa’ ma Qatari (General Secondary Education Certificate) with 75% or year 1 of a bachelors degree from the University of Qatar.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students should have passed a 4 year degree with a CGPA of 3.0 or C or above

SAUDI ARABIA

Undergraduate Applicants – 75% or above in Tawjihiyah plus good application

Postgraduate Applicants – Students with good grades in a Bachelors degree can be considered.

SYRIA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with over 180 in the Thanawiya should be acceptable.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have a Licence/Bachelors, over 4 years or longer, with over 70%, (jayed jeddar – very good; momtaz – excellent; martabet al Sharaf – honours) can be considered

UAE

Undergraduate Applicants – Students must complete the Tawjihiyya (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) with a minimum of 70% average.

Postgraduate Applicants – A CGPA of 2.7+ from a recognised University and should have completed a minimum of 132 credit hours in their degree.

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents should have successfully completed secondary education and hold the Thanaweya A’ama (General Secondary School Certificate) with a pass of 65% or above.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have an undergraduate degree with a CGPA of 2.7 or 75% or above can be considered for a Masters course.

GHANA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with exceptionally good grades (A1/B2) in the WASSC can be considered. Students with a National Diploma with a minimum  CGPA of 2.7 (or equivalent) can also be considered.

Postgraduate ApplicantsApplicants need a Second Class Degree with a CGPA 2.7 minimum for Masters.

KENYA

Undergraduate ApplicantsApplicants with five As at KCSE, including Maths, where appropriate, and English language or 6 A’s and B’s at KCSE can be considered where students have passes (C or above) in a minimum of 10 subjects. Otherwise applicants would need 2 Cs at A Level (or equivalent) in addition to their KCSE’s or a Certificate/Diploma.

Postgraduate ApplicantsApplicants need a minimum CGPA of 2.7 or 60%+ (or equivalent) in their bachelors

MAURITIUS

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents taking  GCE A-Level should consult our standard entry requirements. Students taking the Higher School Certificate (HSC) should obtain AB in the principal subjects and BB in the subsidiary subjects.

Postgraduate ApplicantsA Bachelors degree from Mauritius is equivalent to a UK Bachelors degree.

MOROCCO

Undergraduate ApplicantsPass the Baccalaureat with 12-13

Postgraduate ApplicantsPass the Licence with 13+

NIGERIA

Undergraduate ApplicantsApplicants should present A Levels, Highers or equivalent in addition to SSCE or an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Higher National Diploma (HND).

SOUTH AFRICA

ARGENTINA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students will need to pass their Bachillerato with 7 or above

BAHAMAS

Undergraduate Applicants – See standard A level entry requirements. Students who do not take A levels and take an Associate Degree will need grades A-C.

Postgraduate Applicants – A good degree from the University of the West Indies is acceptable.

English Language Requirements – Grade C, or above,  in O level English Language satisfies the general English language requirement.

BARBADOS

Undergraduate Applicants – Applicants should have a  minimum of: Three local A-Levels (grades A-E) OR An Associate Degree in a relevant subject area (GPA 2.75 or grade A-C) OR The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) with 6 CAPE units including 2 single units (grades 1-4) (grade A-C or GPA 2.75+).

Postgraduate Applicants – Applicants for Masters programmes should have a degree from the University of the West Indies

English Language Requirements – A pass in English in the Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education (CXC)

BERMUDA

Undergraduate Applicants – Student will need a B average in their Bermuda School Certificate.

English Language Requirements – Students will need a B in English in the Bermuda School Certificate.

BRAZIL

Undergraduate Applicants – Students should have the Certificado de Ensino Medio with good grades:  7+ or Bom, Muito Bom, Excelente; or A or B and have passed a university entrance exam  5+ from 10 or equivalent (Concorso Vestibular). Students who have passed the ENEM (Exame Nacional Do Ensino Medio) with minimum 55% will also meet the requirements.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have successfully gained a Bacherel/Licenciado or Professional Title over 4 years or longer can be considered. Acceptable grades are Bom, Muito Bom, Excelente; A or B; 7+; or a GPA of 2.75+

CANADA

Undergraduate Applicants – (Information for other provinces is available from our Admissions Team). British Columbia: 65% in five grade 12 subjects (preferably five grade Bs) (Dogwood Diploma/Secondary Sch Grad Dipl). Ontario: 70% in six 4U or 4M courses. Quebec: The Diplome d’Etudes Collegiales (DEC) awarded after two years of study at a ‘college d’enseignement general et professionnel’ (CEGEP) is acceptable as satisfying general entrance requirements.

Postgraduate Applicants – An Honours degree will satisfy entry requirements onto postgraduate programmes. The Lowest Grade Point Average (GPA) should be 6 on 9 Point GPA and 2.7 on 4 Point GPA, both reflecting an average grade of B-.

English Language Requirements – Students from English-speaking Canadian provinces will need to evidence that they have reached an acceptable level of English language skill through their high school qualification. Students from French speaking provinces will need to pass a Secure English Language Test shown at the top of the page.

COLOMBIA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with Bien in the bachillerato may be considered for entry. Students should have also passed a higher education entrance exam (ICFES).

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have a Licenciatura or Professional Title gained after 4 years of study, or more, with a minimum grade of 3.5 should meet the requirements for a Masters degree.

JAMAICA

Undergraduate Applicants – The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) with 6 CAPE units including 2 single units (grades 1-4) (grade A-C or GPA 2.75+). Students with 3 local A levels with a minimum C grade can also be accepted. Students with associate degrees with a minimum of 60% or 2.0 grade points per credit can also be accepted.

Postgraduate Applicants – A good degree from the University of the West Indies. Degrees from the University of the Caribbean, University of Technology and Northern Caribbean University are also acceptable.

English Language Requirements – A pass in English in the Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education (CXC)

MEXICO

Undergraduate Applicants – Students should have successfully completed secondary school with good grades (8-10) in the bachillerato.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have a Licenciatura or Professional Title gained after 4 years of study or more with a good grade should meet the requirements for a Masters degree. Good grades would normally be 8+ or bien, muy bien or excelente.

SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with equivalent grades at A levels or AVCE are acceptable.

Postgraduate Applicants – A good degree from the University of the West Indies is acceptable.

English Language Requirement – A pass in English in the Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education (CXC)

SAINT LUCIA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with: UK A levels; 1-2 year certificates; Diplomas or Associate Degrees from Sir Arthur Lewis Community College at appropriate grades are acceptable for entry to undergraduate programmes

Postgraduate Applicants – A good degree from the University of the West Indies is acceptable.

English Language Requirements – A pass in English in the Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education (CXC)

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

Undergraduate Applicants – Applicants should have a  minimum of: Three local A-Levels (grades A-E) OR An Associate Degree in a relevant subject area (GPA 2.75 or grade A-C) OR The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) with 6 CAPE units including 2 single units (grades 1-4) (grade A-C or GPA 2.75+).

Postgraduate Applicants – Applicants for Masters programmes should have a degree from the University of West Indies

English Language Requirements – A pass in English in the Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education (CXC)

USA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students should possess a high school diploma (showing good grades i.e. B or above) in relevant subjects. All students should have at least a B average from high school. If students are studying at a high school with an Advanced Placement programme (AP) then 3 passes with grade 3 and above (4 or 5) in relevant subjects (eg art) will show suitability for UG entry.

Postgraduate Applicants – A CGPA minimum of 2.75 is required with at least 30 credits from one specific and relevant subject area. The School does not normally require standardised tests like GMAT and GRE.

English Language Requirements – B average in year 11 or 12 in their high school diploma in English.

VENEZUELA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students should have successfully completed secondary school (educación media diversificada y professional) with good grades in the bachillerato (17+).

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have good grades in a Licenciatura or Professional Title gained after 4 years of study or more should meet the requirements for a Masters degree.

Undergraduate Applicants – Students normally need a GPA of 3.5 out of 5 in their Higher School Certificate (HSC/Intermediate); students with lower grades but who have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 after 1 year of study at a university in Bangladesh can also be considered.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students need one of the following: from the National University (a pass degree plus a second division Masters); from a good private university (an honours degree with a CGPA of 3.0/B or above); from a public university (an honours degree – 4 years – with a minimum of a second class/B).

BRUNEI

Undergraduate Applicants – See our standard A Level entry requirements

Postgraduate Applicants – Upper second class degree from the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).

BURMA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students must pass year 2 of a Bachelors degree with an overall grade of 50%+, or students who have passed year 1 of a Bachelors degree with an overall grade of 70%+ can also be accepted

Postgraduate Applicants – Students with a Bachelor (Honours) degree or other Bachelors degree lasting 5/6 years in a relevant subject with an overall grade of 70%+ can be considered for a Masters degree

CHINA

HONG KONG

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with a Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) should achieve 4+ in 5 subjects or Attained or C or above in B or C electives.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students require an upper second class degree

INDIA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with a first division pass or over 65% (B2) (6.5/10) in year 12 can be considered for entry.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students with good grades in 3 year Bachelors degree – usually 65%+, can be considered for entry to a Masters course. From 4 year bachelors degree programmes students can also be considered with 60%+. Students with a Graduate Diploma after 4 years of higher education from one of the top design schools in India are also acceptable.


INDONESIA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students must have passed Secondary School Certificate of Completion (STTB SMA) with a minimum overall mark of 7.

Postgraduate Applicants – Strata 1 (Sarjana) is considered equivalent to a UK degree. Students can be considered if they have a GPA above 2.7

JAPAN

Undergraduate Applicants – Students must have graduated from High School (Upper Secondary School). Students would normally need grade 3 and above in all subjects.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have graduated with a 4-year Bachelors degree can be considered for a Masters degree. Students must have a minimum GPA score of 2.5 (good B grade or average of 70% or above)

KAZAKHSTAN

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with the Svidetel’ stvo o Srednem Obrazovanii (Certificate of Secondary Education) with 4 (good) or 5 (very good) and a strong application can be considered

Postgraduate Applicants  The Specialist Diploma and Bakalavr with  high grades and/or work experience.  A Magister with average grades of 4 or 5 is also acceptable.

KOREA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students will need to have passed year 12 with an average of C/70% or above.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students would normally need a CGPA of 3.0 or B or 80% or above in their Bachelors degree.

MALAYSIA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students would need to have passed STPM and SPM with C or above. UEC (Unified Examination Certificate) Senior Middle Level with an overall mark of at least 70% (A1, A2 or B3) also meets general requirements. Matriculation Certificate (Matrikulasi) with CGPA of 2.0 or above meets general requirements.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students would need the same grades in a Malaysia bachelors degree as from a UK degree

NEPAL

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with grades over 65% in their Higher Secondary School Certificate (year 12) can be accepted.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students with a first division in their Bachelors when studied over 4 years+ can be considered for a Masters programme.

PAKISTAN

Undergraduate Applicants – Students need a first division/A grade/ 70% plus in FA, FSc or I Com (“Inter”)

Postgraduate Applicants – Students need a first division four year BBA, BSc, BSC or B Eng or a second division Masters.

PHILIPPINES

Undergraduate Applicants – Students must pass an Associate Degree, or year 2 of a Bachelors degree with an overall GPA of 2.75 or above

Postgraduate Applicants – Students with a Filipina Masters degree can be considered for a Masters degree.

SINGAPORE

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with A levels should consult our standard entry requirements.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students would need the same grades in a Singapore bachelors degree as from a UK degree.

SRI LANKA

Undergraduate Applicants – We would normally be looking for 3 Credits at A level

Postgraduate Applicants – A special degree (normally 4 years) is equivalent to a UK bachelors (honours) degree.  Students need a Grade B or above.

THAILAND

Undergraduate Applicants – Higher Secondary School Certificate – Mathayom Suksa (M6) grade 3 or above (70%+), or pass year 1 of relevant Thai degree with GPA of 2.5+.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students will need a GPA above 2.5 in their Bachelors

UZBEKISTAN

Undergraduate Applicants – Attestat (known as Shahodatnoma – Certificate of Completed Secondary Education) with 4 (good, ‘yakshe’) or 5 (very good, ‘juda yakshe’)

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents with a Diplom or Bakalvr can be considered for Masters entry, with grades of 71%+

VIETNAM

Undergraduate Applicants – Pass Upper Secondary School Graduation Certificate (Bang tot ng hiep pho tong) with good grades (GPA 6.5+) or Pass year 1 of a relevant Vietnam degree (bang tot nghiep dai hoc) with a GPA of 7.

ACADEMIC + LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS BY COUNTRY

AUSTRALIA

Undergraduate ApplicantsWe would expect students to have passed their school leaving qualification. The usual achievement required is also to be ranked in the top 20% of students in the following exams:  The university entrance test which applies in all states; TER: Tertiary Entrance Rank; ATAR: Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank; TES:Tertiary Entrance Statement;  UAI: University Admissions Index ; OP: Overall Position in Queensland.

Postgraduate Applicants4 years (Honours) satisfies entrance requirements for Masters programmes.

Students with Ordinary degrees (3 years) with high grades (over 70%) or extensive relevant work experience may also be acceptable depending on the overall quality of the application.

English Language Requirements – Students from  Australia will have been instructed in English at school and university, and will be required to evidence their competency in English through their High School grades.

NEW ZEALAND

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents will be expected to have obtained the University Entrance Certificate with NCEA Level 3 qualification with at least 2 courses at Merit or Excellent at Level 3 standard. Students will also need to have obtained at least 14 credits in Mathematics (where required) at Level 1. Students without sufficient credits to obtain the NCEA level 3, may need to have completed one year at university in New Zealand. New Zealand scholarship holders (level 4) will also be considered for entry.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students would need the same grades in a New Zealand degree as from a UK degree.

English Language Requirements – Students will need 14 Level 1 credits in English in in the NCEA qualification in order to satisfy English Language requirements

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants whose first language is not English must fulfil the following English language requirements, unless stated otherwise under their specific country’s section:

International Foundation Programme: IELTS 5.5 (min 5.0)

Most Art & Design Programmes: IELTS 6.0 (min 5.5)

Architecture and some PG Programmes: IELTS 6.5 (min 5.5)

Please note that for UKVI purposes you must take the IELTS for UKVI (Academic) at a recognised centre.

AUSTRIA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students with average marks of 2 or above in the Matura/Reifeprüfungszeugnis einer Höheren Schule/Berufsreifeprufung can be considered. Students with Zeugnis ueber die Studienberechtigungsprüfung with marks of 3 or above can be considered.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have successfully passed a Diplomstudium/ Magister or a student with a Fachhochschuldiplom (Mag FH/Dip-Ing FH) with average grades of up to 2.5  (bestanden – pass; mit auszeichrung bestanden – pass with distinction) can be considered.

English Language Requirements – Students with a 1 or 2 in English in the Reifeprüfungszeugnis/Matura (secondary school leaving certificate) from an Allgemeinbildende Höhere Schule do not need IELTS. All other students will need standard IELTS or equivalent.

BELGIUM

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents who have at least a grade 14 or 70% with ‘mention’ in the Certificat d’Enseignement Secondaire Superieur or in the Diploma Secundair Onderwijs or in the Abschlusszeugnis der Oberstufe des Sekundarunterrichts can be considered

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have completed the second cycle or Licencié/ Licentiatt degree with 70% or above (met onderscheiding/avec distinction) can be considered

BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents will need at least a 3 in the Secondary School Leaving Diploma

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents with a 4-6 year Diploma Visokog Obrazovanja can be considered as can students with a Bachelors of Arts or Sciences after 4 years (240 ECTS)

BULGARIA

Undergraduate Applicants Students with  Diploma of Completed Secondary Education/ Diploma za Sredno Obrazavanie with at least 5 (mnogo dobur) = very good  or above can be considered. Students with Diploma za Sredno – Spetzialno Obrazovanie (awarded by technical secondary schools) or  Diploma za Zavarsheno Poluvisshe Obrazovanie (DZPO) with at least 5 (mnogo dobur) = very good can also be considered.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents with a  Bakalavr (post 2003)  with at least 4  dobur (good);  5 mnogo dobur (very good); or 6 otlichen (excellent).

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents with a Svjedodzba o Zavrsnom Ispitu (Certificate of Completed Education) with a grade of 4+ may be considered  OR students with over 4 in the Maturatna Svjevdodzba (Secondary School Leaving Diploma) may be considered,

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents holding the Baccalaureus/Baccalaurea, Prvostupnik/Prvostupnica will be acceptable with grades of 3 (dobar) or above.

CYPRUS

Undergraduate Applicants – 1. Students will need Apolyterion: 19 + (including minimum 16 in Maths for relevant courses) 2. Students taking Apolyterion and 1 A level: 18+ in Apolyterion AND grade B in A level in relevant area (NOT modern Greek) 3. Students taking Apolyterion and 2 A levels: 17 + in Apolyterion AND 2 Bs in A levels in relevant areas (NOT modern Greek)

Postgraduate ApplicantsUniversity of Cyprus degrees –  if students have obtained marks of over 6.50. Students will need a GPA of 2.75 or more from a four-year degree programme from a recognised private university (or equivalent).

CZECH REPUBLIC

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents who have at least a grade 2/ chvalitebný/very good in their Maturitni zkouska can be accepted.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have the following will be considered: Bakalarsky with a grade of  2/velmi dobrý/ very good or 1 výborný/excellent (pre 2004) or A1 or B1.5 (post 2004)

DENMARK

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents would be expected to have obtained 10 or above in the Studentereksamen/HF/HHX/HTX.

Postgraduate ApplicantsSuitable for students who have a Bachelor degree (post 1993) with grade 9 or above.

English Language Requirements – If students have studied English at Upper Secondary level and have obtained grade 10 or above, they will meet our undergraduate entry requirement. For Masters, if three or more of their UG courses have been taught and assessed in English, and they have obtained an average of 10 or above in these courses, they do not need to obtain an additional English language qualification for Masters. If you do not have the above grades you will need to take a Secure English Language Test with results equivalent to those stated at the top of this page.

ESTONIA

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents who have average marks of 5 and 80& in a minimum of 3 Riigieksamiituonistus in the Secondary Education School Leaving Certificate (gümnaasiumi loputunnistus) can be considered.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have one of the following will be considered for Masters courses: ülikooli diplom: Bakalaureusekraad or Bachelors degree (after 2002) with marks of ‘5’ or A = excellent or ‘4’ or B = very good.

FINLAND

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents with average grades of E/6 or above L/7 in the Finish national exams Ylioppilastutkinoto/ Studentexamen meet the necessary entry requirements.

Postgraduate ApplicantsSuitable for students who have a Kandidaatti/Kandidat (Ekonomi, Diplomi-insinri, Arkkitehti, Lisensiaatti, Proviisori) or Ammattikorkeakoulutukinto since 1996 (120 ECTS) or a Maisteri/Magister with average grade 2/good/hyvä in the scale 1to 3 or grade 4/erittäin hyvä/very good or above in the scale 1to 5. Students will also be considered for postgraduate studies if they hold a Kandidaatti AMK/YHS or a Kandidaatti/Kandidat with relevant experience.

English Langauge Requirements – If students have studied English at Upper Secondary level and have obtained grade M/5 (very good) or above will meet our undergraduate requirements. Undergraduate Applicants – Students who have the baccalauréat will satisfy the entrance requirement, provided an overall score of at least 15/bien has been obtained.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents with an average minimum grade of assez bien (12 or above) in their Licence or Diplôme D’ingenieur (or equivalent)  –  will satisfy the entrance requirement.

GERMANY

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents would be expected to have obtained an aggregate (overall) Abitur mark between 1.0 (sehr gut) and 2.5 (gut).

Postgraduate ApplicantsWe can accept graduates of German universities and of German Fachhochschulen with one of the following qualifications: Diplom, Magister Artium, Staatsexamen, Bachelor or a Fachhochschuldiplom. Applicants require a pass mark of between 1 Sehr gut and 2.5 Gut.

English Language Requirements – English language grades in Abitur of 15,14,13,12,11,10 (which are equivalent to an overall mark of 1- sehr  gut or 2 -gut ) will meet out entry requirements. If you do not have the above grades you will need to take a Secure English Language Test with results equivalent to those stated at the top of this page.

GREECE

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents should have successfully completed the Apolyterion with a minimum overall mark of over 18.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have a Ptychion awarded by a University with minimum grades of 6.5 should meet the requirements for a Masters degree.  Students with a good score (7 plus) in a Ptychion awarded by a Technikon will also meet the requirements.  Graduates from an American university in Greece should have a GPA of 2.75 or above.

HUNGARY

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents must obtain an average grade of 4 (jo/good) or above in the Érettségi examination/Matura.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have obtained an average grade of 3  (közepes/average)  in the Alapto Kozat (Bachelor degree) or Egyetemi Oklevél or the Alapkepzes issued by Universities (usually 4-6 years) will be considered.

ICELAND

Undergraduate Applicants – Students need a minimum of 140 credits in the Stúdentspróf, with marks of 7 or above. Students may also be accepted with the Sveinspróf

Postgraduate Applicants – Students with marks of 7.0 and above from a university in Iceland may be considered.

English Language Requirements – Students with 8 or above in English in the stúdentspróf should be acceptable. If you do not have the above grades you will need to take a Secure English Language Test with results equivalent to those stated at the top of this page.

IRELAND

Undergraduate Applicants Leaving Certificate – students need the same grades and subjects at Higher Level as in Scottish Highers.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have a minimum 2.2 or above Honours Degree will meet the minimum entrance requirements.

English Language Requirements – Students need a grade A or above in Ordinary Level English.

ITALY

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents should have successfully completed the (Diploma de) Esame di Stato (formerly Diploma di Matura) with a minimum overall mark of 85% and with marks of 8 or 80% or above (out of 10 or 100%) in maths, physics for courses that require these subjects.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents should have successfully completed Laurea Specialistica (LS), Diploma di Laurea or Curso di Laurea (CL)(prior to 1999), Licenza di Accademia di Belle Arti with an overall mark of 104 or above

LATVIA

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents can be considered who have passed the Atestats par visparejo videjo izglitibu (General Secondary Education Certificate) with an average  grade 8+  (B) in at least 12 subjects, two of which must be at advanced level (Profilkurss) .

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have completed a Bakalauras degree (post 2003) with grades 6 to 7  (C) or above can be considered.

LITHUANIA

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents who have completed their secondary education (vidurinis I’silavinimas) and have successfully passed the Brandos Atestatas – Maturity (four state exams) with an overall min. average of 50-100  (8/gerai/ good) will be considered for Bachelor programmes

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have passed the Bakalauras (equivalent to UK Bachelors) with an overall min. average of B or C 66-73% (8 or 4/highly satisfactory) will be considered for Masters programmes.

Undergraduate ApplicantsDiplôme de Fin d’Etudes Secondaires OR Diplôme de Fin d’Etudes Secondaires Techniques at 48 or above  (très bien).

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents would need 14+ (bien) from the University of Luxembourg to be considered.

MALTA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students who have a Matriculation Certificate or an Advanced Matriculation with a grade A or exceptionally grade B will satisfy the entrance requirements.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have a Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree  (usually 3-4 years) with a second division (upper) grade can be considered.

English Language Requirements – Students need a grade B or above in English in the Matriculation Certificate.

NETHERLANDS

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents who have at least an 8 (goed/good) grade in their Voorbereidend Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs (VWO) (Gymnasium A/B and Atheneum A/B)

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have one of the following will be considered for Masters courses: Kandidaatsexamen/Bachelor or Getuigschrift Hoger Beroepsonderwijs (HBO) with a grade of no less than 7

English Language Requirements – Grade 8 or above in English in VWO is acceptable. If you do not have this grade you will need to take a Secure English Language Test with results equivalent to those stated at the top of this page.

Undergraduate Applicants – Students would be expected to have obtained average marks of 4 or above in their Vitnemal fra den Videregaende Skole.

Postgraduate Applicants – Candidates must obtain a minimum C grade in the new Bachelor degree system.

English Language Requirements – Students who have obtained 4 or above in both written and spoken English in the Vitnemaltradm Videregaende Skole will be acceptable. If you do not have this grade you will need to take a Secure English Language Test with results equivalent to those stated at the top of this page.

POLAND

Undergraduate Applicants – Applicants should pass all mandatory subjects in the Matura with 65% and above. In addition, applicants should have at least 2 additional subjects at extended level and should have passed those with a minimum of 60%.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents with a Bachelors degree (Licencjat) with either 5/A/bardzo dobry or 4/B/dobry grades can be considered for a Masters programme.

PORTUGAL

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents who have completed the Certficado de Fim de Estudos Secundarios with 16 or above or ‘muito bom’ and with mark of 18 or above in maths, etc for courses that require these subjects, should be eligible for a bachelors course.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have a Licenciado with an overall mark of 16 to 17/bom com distinção or 18 to19: muito bom com distinção or 20: muito bom com distinção e louvor should meet the entry requirements.

ROMANIA

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents need to have a grade 8 or above in the Diploma de Bacalaureat.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have the Diploma de Licenta with grade 8 or above will be considered for Masters courses. Students with a Diploma de Inginer or a Diploma de Architect can be accepted with a grade 8 or above.

Undergraduate Applicants – For students who have average grade 4 or above in Attestat o Srednem Obrazovanii.

Postgraduate Applicants – Students who have the Diplom ob okanchanii vysshego uchebnogo zavedeniya (normally 5 years) will be considered for Masters courses, if they have average grades of 3 and above. Holders  of Bakalavr (normally 4 years) are also eligible if they have average grades of 4 or 5.

Undergraduate ApplicantsOver 3 in the Secondary School Leaving Diploma.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents should hold the Diplom Visokog Obrazovanja (pre-Bologna) or the Diplomirani (post-Bologna) with a grade of 7+ (max 10)

SLOVAKIA

Undergraduate Applicants – Students must obtain an average score of 2 (vel’ mi dobrý/very good) or above in the Maturita/Vysvedcenie o Maturitnej Skúske -Secondary School leaving certificate.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have completed the Bakalavr (usually 3 years) with vel’ mi dobrý/very good or above or the Magister (normally 4-6 years – pre 2003) or Inzinier (normally 5-6 years) with average grades of dobrý/good or above. Students with a Bakalavr issued since 2005 will need a grade of dobrý or above.

SLOVENIA

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents must obtain an average score of 4 or above in the Matura (Secondary School Leaving Certificate). The Technical Matura or Polikna Matura are also acceptable

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have completed a university diploma (univerzitetni diplomirani) or professional diploma (diplomirani), for a minimum of 4 years, with good grades of minimum 7 or above.

SPAIN

Undergraduate Applicants – Students who have obtained the Título de Bachillerato (LOGSE) with an overall mark of 8/notable or above and with mark of 8 or above in maths, etc for courses that require these subjects, should be eligible for a bachelors course.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have completed a Licenciatura or Título de Ingeniero or Título de Arquitecto with an overall grade of 7/notable or above (out of 10) should meet the entry requirements.

SWEDEN

Undergraduate Applicants – Students would be expected to have obtained average grades of VG or above (or B or above) in the Fullståndigt Slutbetyg från Gymnasieskolan.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudents who have obtained Pass (godkänd) or above in  the Kandidatexamen or Magisterexamen will be considered for Masters courses.

English Language Requirements – Students who have studied English at Upper Secondary level and have obtained grade VG or above in both written and spoken English should meet our entry requirements. For Masters, if three or more of their UG courses have been taught and assessed in English, and they have obtained Pass (godkänd) or above in these courses, they do not need to obtain an additional English language qualification for Masters. If you do not have the above grades you will need to take a Secure English Language Test with results equivalent to those stated at the top of this page.

SWITZERLAND

Undergraduate ApplicantsStudents who have a minimum Grade 5 or Guy/Bien/Bene in Maturitätszeugnis, Certificat de Maturité, Baccalauréat or Attestato Di Maturità.

Postgraduate ApplicantsStudent should have the following qualifications: Diplom, Diploma, Diplôme or Licence, Lizentiat, Licenza. The following grades are required: no less than 4 on a 1-6 scale; no less than 3 on a 1-5 scale; no less than 7 on a 1-10 scale or Gut/Bien/Bene.

TURKEY

Undergraduate Applicants – Students need to have a good pass 3.5 (maximum is 5.0) in their Devlet Lise Diplomasi (70% if the mark is shown over 100).

Postgraduate Applicants – Students need a GPA of over 2.5 (63%) in their Lisans Diplomasi

UKRAINE

Undergraduate ApplicantsAll scores of 4 or 5 (out of 5) or 8+ (out of 12) in Attestat pro Povnu Zagal’nu Sersdniu Osvitu (Certificate of complete general secondary education)

Postgraduate Applicants – Students will need a 4.0/5.0 average in the 4 year Bakalvr or Specialist Diploma.
